Buddhist* "beginning to eat" mindful eating prayer practice to remind Dr. Steven and I that Joy
Gurgevich is now living in God's Kingdom of Heaven here on this earth with us"

1)With the first mouthful I practice the love of this around eating with me that brings "Joy".

2)With the second mouthful I practices the love[compassionately loving those sitting and eating
together with us around me] that relieves
suffering.

3)With the third mouthful, I practice the "Joy" of being alive.

4)With the fourth mouthful, I practice equal love for all beings.

Above are the prayers to be thought about before eating, here are some to be thought about during and
after eating:

Looking at your plate:
This plate of food,
so fragrant and appetizing,
also contains much suffering.

Holding your cup of tea:

This cup of tea in my two hands,
mindfulness is held perfectly,
My mind and body dwell
in the very here and now.

Looking at your empty plate or bowl:

My bowl, empty now,
will soon be filled with precious food,
Beings all over the earth are struggling to live
How fortunate we are to have enough to eat.

Finishing your meal:
My bowl is empty,
my hunger is satisfied.
I vow to live
for the benefit of all beings.
